About Brad Rose, PhD.

Brad Rose, Ph.D., is a Stanford University and Brandeis University trained applied sociologist, who has more than 25 years of experience designing and conducting program evaluations for a range of clients in the nonprofit, philanthropic, k-12 and higher education sectors. Dr. Rose has extensive experience assisting clients to ensure that they are utilizing data both to measure the impacts of their programming and to inform program refinement/strengthening. He brings to the practical challenges involved in determining program effectiveness an extensive, experience-based knowledge of organization- and program-design, and a collaborative and inclusive approach to client engagements. Dr. Rose is committed to assisting organizations to accomplish immediate program objectives, to achieving longer-term organizational goals, and to building, organizations’ intrinsic capacities for program evaluation.

Dr. Rose earned a Doctorate in Sociology from Brandeis University; an M.A. in Education from Stanford University; an M.A. in Educational Technology from San Francisco State University; and a B.A. in English from UCLA. He is a member of the American Sociological Association and the American Evaluation Association.

Dr. Rose is also a critically acclaimed poet and short fiction writer. He has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize eight times, and Best of the Net three times. Dr. Rose is the author of  five books of poetry: Pink X-Ray, Momentary Turbulence, Lucky Animals, de/tonations, and No. Wait.
